marionA short introduction....

Of course I would like to introduce myself to you....my name is Marion Quaedvlieg, 57 years young, married and living in the south of the Netherlands. We share our household with five PBGV´s, two Border Collies, two Dutch Schapendoes, a Persian cat and two little bunny brothers.
Dog breeding for me goes back to 1983 when I started out breeding Old English Sheepdogs. That’s where my kennel name “Shamblewain´s” originates from; to shamble refers to the special movement that is so typical for the OES, and Wain comes from “Charles Wain” the celestial sign for big bear. The two together in a free kind of translation ended up as “Shamblewain”.
Out of love and respect for our Old English Sheepdogs we kept that kennel name for our french pack as well.

While still owning OES’s (until 1999) my first PBGV came to live with us in 1990, a male, later on accompagnied by a little orange and white female by the name of “Queldring’s Inouie Indy” – “Indy for short, and in 1995 my first PBGV litter was born. “Indy” did have 3 litters, second litter sired to the french male “Lamy des Rives de la Garonne” and the third litter by “Grand Prix du Greffier du Roi” ( out of Magic des Rives de la Garonne x Autre Chose du Greffier du Roi).
From these three litter 3 females stayed with us being “Cartouche”, “Patois”, and “Essence”.
A sister to “Cartouche” ( first litter)  went to kennel “of Traveller’s Joy” in NL; a sister to “Patois” (second litter) went to kennel “Mon Petit Rebell” in Germany and a sister to “Essence” (third litter)  went to kennel “Vantans” in Sweden.

In 1997 I was able to import a lovely french female...”O’Nounou des Rives de la Garonne” who won best female PBGV at the french Nationale d’Elevage in 2000, an experience I will never forget, I was so proud.....; from Nounou’s first litter a female went to Dalsangs kennel in Sweden and out of Nounou’s second litter I kept a male...my “Tappaz”.
A
wonderful male also came to live with us in 1997 by the name of “Grand Prix du Greffier du Roi” aka “Primeur” from the famous kennel that belongs to Jolanda Huisman. “Primeur” became Dutch and Lux champion, youth winner A’dam ‘98 and Winner Amsterdam ‘99 and ‘01; he was best PBGV  in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in 1998 and he was and will always be my biggest “little” friend, a very special dog!
Primeur and Indy’s daughter “Shamblewain’s En Passant” –aka “Essence” followed in her father footsteps by winning her champion titles and she was Amsterdam youth Winner in ‘99; she grew to be 14 years old.
My girl “Shamblewain’s Kollector’s Item” – “Tigger” is Primeur’s granddaughter and Essence’s daughter, Lux youth champion, and she will be 12 years by the end of 2015.

In 2003 I got the chance to import a male from kennel “vom Esculap” belonging to Heidi Winkelmann of course. His name “Com.Fritz.De vom Esculap” – aka “Canoe” whom I showed to his Dutch Ch and Europajugendsieger ‘04 title. He was the most charming stud dog I have ever met, ever so gentle and sweet!! He sadly recently passed away but did enjoy some wonderful time as a family dog without the worries of females in season. “Canoe” is the father to my “Tappaz” who will be 11 in august this year 2015.
Out of “Shamblewain’s Indecent Proposal” my girl “Santa” was born in 2005. Santa’s father is “Thome Mon Petit Rebell” out of my “Shamblewain’s Dior Diorissimo”, multi champion and best PBGV in Germany for three years in a row, starting of in 1998. “Indecent Proposal” went to live at Venloon’s kennel and did have her first (and only) litter in 2005 and out of that litter Santa came back to me. The kennel does not excist anymore so I was very happy to be able to have Santa come live with me. She was best PBGV puppy and best puppy in show at our Dutch championship show held by our Dutch breed Club in 2006.
Sadly enough I did have to put my breeding on hold as of 2006 and just recently in 2013 I drove to Italy together with my sister to pick up my dear “Nannini” or “I’Canzone” more official.
Nannini  was born at Maria Monastero’s kennel, a happy, very intelligent and curious little girl that will hopefully be in the showring later this year.
And finally little baby “Nisse” just now came to live with us, all the way from Finland, from kennel “Nightdream” owned by Sirkka Sundstrom. Both girls do have their own page on here so you can find all the latest updates on Nannini and Nisse on their pages.

Besides breeding dogs I have always been busy to keep my knowledge abouth this breed up to date, I did visit lots of very well known kennels in many countries, I was in Fance a whole week to look at so many french PBGV’s, did attend a lot of seminars regarding dogs and dog breeding education, I worked as a vet tech and have been an instructor in  obedience and worked as such for 18 years at our local dog club. Furthermore I did study homeopatic meds especially meant for dogs and have groomed PBGV’s and GBGV’s for many years. In 2000 I was invited to even judge PBGV’s in Sweden and I can tell you that is not an easy thing to do. But my BIS female on that day won her first official CC the week after at a international dogshow, so I think I did do good....! On top I am very thankful for the contacts with other breeders in different countries and more than thankful for some very special friendships that grew along the years.
Twice a year I arrange a dog walk for PBGV and GBGV lovers lately, which is so much fun to do, and meanwhile this group of people has turned into a wonderful group of friends. 24/7 it is PBGV time in my life actually !

To end this introduction I like to say that above all, I do love my dogs with all my heart and soul, and this wonderful  breed in general, and I hope I will be able to continue loving and cherishing my dogs and the PBGV breed for many years to come !
